Description

Nos. 3 and 5 Fisher Street are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick set on a chamfered stone plinth, featuring a string course and a stone-bracketed metal gutter. They have a slate roof with original brick chimney stacks at both the ridge and ends.

The houses are two storeys tall, with No. 3 having two bays and No. 5 having three bays, indicating they were built as a single structure with a double-depth plan. No. 3 has a doorway on the right side, while No. 5 has a central doorway. Both doorways feature panelled doors and overlights framed in painted stone surrounds with cornices. The sash windows are set in painted stone architraves, with eared detailing on the ground floor. The right return wall displays Flemish bond brickwork with light headers, indicating that the facade has been rebuilt.

Inside, there are some panelled doors and panelled internal shutters for the front windows. The hall features an archway supported by console brackets. The principal rooms have moulded plaster ceiling cornices with central moulded roundels. The wooden staircase includes turned wooden balusters and a moulded wooden handrail.
