Description

The United Reformed Church, originally listed as the Congregational Chapel, is a Nonconformist chapel located on Brington Road in Long Buckby. It was built in 1771 and enlarged in 1819. The building is constructed from ironstone ashlar and features a splayed plinth and a slate roof. It has a rectangular plan and is two stories high with a three-window range.

The entrance front has a gabled end that includes a large semi-circular window with radiating leaded lights. Above this window, there is a keyblock and a datestone, along with a moulded string at the base of the gable. The first floor features three arch-headed windows, each with keyblocks and leaded lights. On the ground floor, the outer bays contain 6-panel double doors with fanlights and segmental heads, while the central bay has a window with leaded lights, all of which have keyblocks and segmental heads.

The sides of the building have four bays, with upper arched leaded windows under segmental heads, all featuring keyblocks. The rear gable displays a datestone inscribed with 'enlarged 1819'. Inside, there is a blind arch flanked by pointed arched upper windows and a panelled gallery on three sides, supported by simple columns likely added during the 1819 enlargement. The interior also contains later pews and a pulpit.
