Description

FLORE THE GREEN SP6460 (North side) 11/129 No.7 - II House. Dated 1690. Coursed squared ironstone, pantile roof replacing thatch, brick end stacks. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Central 4-panel door with semi-circular metal hood on wrought iron brackets. 2-light casements either side to ground and first floors, those to first floor metal casements with small leaded frames and some crown glass; all windows have timber lintels; datestone above door inscribed F/NA/1690 with County Fire Insurance plaque above. Small cellar window to left with old timber lintel. C19 kitchen range to right of forecourt, partially attached to right end of house, extensively remodelled C20. Interior: ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and open fireplace with chamfered bressumer. 4-centred arched stone fireplace removed from house in Broughton. Corner stone fireplace in upper room with moulded surround and lintel inscribed WM either side of heart. Winder stair.
