Description

The Old Bakehouse and attached outbuilding range is a house dated 1720, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with thatch and slate roofs, and brick stacks at the ends, ridge, and internally. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys plus an attic, featuring a two-window range. The gable end faces the street and includes casement windows with two and three lights on the ground and first floors. The left windows have stop-chamfered timber lintels. There is a 12-pane sash window in the gable to the left, which has a timber lintel and a datestone above, inscribed with D/TS/1720 and a hood mould. The stone coped gable has a kneeler on the left side.

To the right, there is a slate-roofed wing that was raised in the 19th century. A blocked cellar window with a timber lintel is also present. An entrance to the yard is located on the right, featuring a six-panel door with a timber lintel and a moulded wood surround, situated immediately to the right of the street range. The ground and first floors have one- and two-light casement windows. The front facing the yard has been raised in brick and is continued by a thatched outbuilding range, which is probably from the mid-18th century and is a single storey with an end bay that is canted to the yard.
