Description
No. 45 on The Green is a house dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century and later. It features a rubble stone plinth and a timber frame with brick infill on the ground floor and end walls, topped with colourwashed roughcast. The building has a moulded wooden eaves cornice adorned with small modillions. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a rebuilt brick chimney situated between the left bays, along with a 19th-century brick chimney at the rear right-hand corner.
The house is two stories high with a three-bay range on the left and a taller gabled bay on the right, which has two stories and an attic. The windows are irregular leaded casements, with the first-floor windows being older and all equipped with wooden shutters. The door in the third bay is a board door that features a modest wooden open pediment supported by shaped brackets. There is a small extension set back to the left of the main structure.
