Description
No. 5 Lower Street is a 17th-century house that has been altered over time. It features some timber framing but is mostly rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with part of it tiled at the rear. There is a thin brick chimney between the right bays and a 19th-century chimney to the left. The house has one and a half storeys and three bays. The windows are 20th-century leaded casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor of the right bays and a two-light window with a segmental head on the ground floor left. The first floor of the right bays has a two-light window beneath thatch eyebrows. A 20th-century door is located between the left bays and is topped with a gabled timber hood. There is also a conservatory on the right side.
