Description

This is a range of two houses, located at 2 and 2A The Strand, Quinton. The building likely originated as a late medieval structure, with significant alterations made in the 17th and early 18th centuries. It is timber-framed with whitewashed render infill. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped section to the right side, and part of the lower front pitch tiled over raised eaves. Four brick chimneys are present.

The house is 1½ storeys high and five bays wide. The ground floor features irregular, barred wooden casement windows; the fourth bay has a canted bay window. The upper floor has four paired barred wooden casement windows, with those in the fourth bay set within the thatch, and the others set in dormers along the eaves, featuring slate or corrugated iron roofs. A half-glazed door sits between the third and fourth bays.

A gabled projection to the second bay has a tiled roof, a door flanked by single casement windows, and a porch to the front. This bay incorporates cruck trusses.
