Description
39 The Green is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. It features a coursed rubble stone plinth and a timber frame with diagonal braces and brick infill, along with raised eaves. The right gable has been rebuilt in red brick. The roof is covered with old tiles and is half-hipped on the right side. There is a rebuilt brick chimney on the left. The house has two storeys and an attic, with one bay. The front has leaded casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window above. The gable includes a board door and a single light window on the ground floor, along with a two-light casement in the attic. At the rear, there is an old three-light casement with diamond leading and moulded mullions, as well as a lean-to below. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered spine beam and a fireplace with dressed stone jambs and a stop-chamfered cambered wooden lintel.
