Description
The Thatches is a house dating from the 18th century, constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a thatched roof and brick ridge stacks. It has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall with a five-window range. There is a blocked door to the left of the center, featuring a timber lintel, alongside a three-light casement window to the left and a small single-light casement to the right. To the far right, there are two three-light casements, while a two-light casement is found to the far left, and two-light leaded casements are situated in eyebrow dormers on the first floor, all with timber lintels. The left end bay is a later addition, marked by a straight joint. The entrance is located on the left side. Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams and two open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers. The building was formerly three cottages.
