Description

Milestone House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The original layout was a three-unit plan, and the building stands two storeys high. The façade includes a four-window range with 19th and 20th-century casements that have glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of the centre, also under a wooden lintel. The house has brick and stone stacks at both the ridge and the end. On the right gable, there is evidence of a blocked fire window and a fire insurance plaque. Inside, the house contains two open fireplaces with moulded bressumers, and the ground floor rooms at the far left and right feature moulded and stop-chamfered spine beams.
