Description

No. 56, Allens Hill is a late 17th and early 18th century house. It is constructed of regular coursed limestone with an original plain-tile roof. Originally, the house comprised three units. It presents a two-storey, three-window front with leaded casement windows beneath wooden lintels. A 6-panel door with glazed toplights is situated to the right of centre, and is sheltered by a 19th-century porch. The house has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers to the right side. Brick and stone stacks are located at the ridge and end of the building. The rear elevation is similar in style, featuring leaded casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
