Description
These three houses at 14, 16, and 16A College Street date from the early to mid-18th century and were restored in the 20th century. They are built of regular coursed limestone with a simple tile roof. Originally designed with one or two rooms per house, they now present a six-window facade. The windows are casements, with those on the first floor of number 16A dating to the 19th century; the remaining windows are modified 20th-century replacements, all topped with wooden lintels. Three 20th-century doors are set between the window ranges, also under wooden lintels. Number 16A shows some evidence of ground-floor window replacement, and number 14 has a fire window. Brick stacks rise from the roof ridge. Interior details are uninspected but are reported to include ceiling beams and likely open fireplaces. The houses are listed for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
