Description
A group of four houses, now three dwellings, located on Duck End, Wollaston. They were built in the mid-17th century and were altered in the late 17th century. The houses are constructed of regular coursed limestone, with corrugated metal and concrete tile roofing. Numbers 17, 19, and 21 are two-storey buildings, while number 23 is single-storey with an attic. The front has a six-window arrangement of casement windows with glazing bars, all under wooden lintels, with the exception of number 21, which has 20th-century casements. There are three 19th and 20th-century doors between the windows, also under wooden lintels, and number 21 features a 20th-century porch. Number 23 has a gable parapet. Brick and stone stacks are visible at the ridge. The passage to the left of number 21 contains stop-chamfered lintels and ceiling beams. Inside number 23, there is a spine beam, an open fireplace with a bressumer, and the original roof structure, previously thatched.
