Description
This is a mid-17th century house located on the north side of Wollaston Hickmire. Originally constructed with a 3-unit plan, it is built of regular coursed limestone and has a thatched roof. The house is one and two storeys high, with an attic. The front elevation features a 3-window range of leaded casement windows, each under a wooden lintel. A ground floor window on the left has shutters. Two 19th-century panelled and partly glazed doors are found between the windows on the left side of the building. A tall eaves dormer, matching the window style, is positioned centrally, with a smaller dormer to the right. A 2-window range projects forward to the right. The building has ashlar gable parapets and brick and stone stacks located at the ridge and ends. The interior was noted to have ceiling beams. According to records, the building was said to have originally been a medieval barn.
