Description
The Scott Bader Social Club is a house that has been converted into a social club, dating from the mid-17th century. It features squared coursed limestone and a thatched roof, with an L-shaped plan. The building stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front has a four-window range, with a cross wing that projects forward to the right. The first floor has leaded casements set under wooden lintels, while the ground floor has 20th-century openings. There is a leaded attic casement in the cross wing and a 20th-century door located to the right of the center. A partially legible 17th-century datestone can be found in the gable, along with a rendered stone stack at the ridge. At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing that is similar in style. Inside, the building features spine beams and a raised cruck roof structure.
