Description
The Excelsior Band Club is a house that has been converted into a club, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and has a concrete tile roof. The building was originally likely designed with a three-unit plan. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and features a four-window range at the first floor, which now has three leaded casements, and a five-window range of 20th-century casements at the ground floor, all set under wooden lintels. The central entrance has been blocked. The building has ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks at both ends. There is an extension from the 18th and 19th centuries at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
