Description

No. 10 Hickmire is a house dating from the mid-18th century and the 19th century. It is built of regularly coursed limestone and has a corrugated metal roof. The house originally had a two-unit plan and is two storeys high. The first floor features a two-window range of casement windows, while the ground floor has sash windows, all with glazing bars and set under wooden lintels. There are brick stacks at both ends of the building. The roof was raised with brick eaves in the early 20th century. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer. This house is included for its group value.
