Description

Prospect Farmhouse is an early and mid-18th century farmhouse, with later 19th-century additions, located on Church Lane in Wollaston. It is constructed of regular coursed limestone with a slate roof. The building has an L-shape plan. The front elevation has a two-window range of 19th-century casement windows with margin lights, set under wooden lintels. A two-storey porch of brick was added in the early 20th century, projecting to the right. A brick stack is situated at the ridge and end of the roof. The rear elevation is similar, featuring one leaded casement window. An 18th-century barn is attached to the rear wing, built of stone and with a corrugated metal roof. The barn's central cart entrance is flanked by shallow buttresses. The interior of the barn still retains its original roof structure, which was originally thatched.
