Description

A row of three houses located in West End, Minchinhampton, dating to the 17th or early 18th century, with significant alterations and a new facade in the early 19th century. The construction is of coursed and random rubble limestone, with rebuilt chimneys of ashlar and brick, and a roof of stone slate, with a rear section tiled in concrete. The houses are two storeys high, with attics to numbers 22 and 24.

The fenestration is two windows wide on each property, with a mixture of window styles across different dates. Number 22 features 16-pane sashes with deep stone lintels; a doorway on the right has a 6-panel fielded door, while a ground-floor doorway on the left has been blocked. Two gabled attic dormers contain timber casements. Number 24 has keyed segmental arched window openings, with a single 16-pane sash on the ground floor and two small-paned casements above. A left-hand doorway has a 20th-century door. The eaves line was raised with a central gabled dormer. A plain upper floor band extends onto number 26. Number 26 has two 12-pane upper floor sashes, while the ground floor sash has been replaced by a 20th-century casement with false glazing bars. A former central doorway was moved to the right, into what was originally a window position. The interiors have not been inspected. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
