Description

No 8, West End, is a former pair of houses that has been converted into a single house. It dates from the 18th century and was altered in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed and random rubble limestone, with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two stories tall and features a rear wing.

The front of the house has 12-pane sash windows and a central doorway with a 4-panel door, flanked by two pairs of sash windows. There are three sash windows on the upper floor, all set in plain openings with deep stone lintels. Some early window openings can still be seen in the masonry. The house has two chimneys mounted on the ridge with plain caps. Additionally, there are 20th-century casements on the west gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
