Description

This is a former police station, now a house, located in a row within the west end of Minchinhampton. The building was originally constructed in the early 18th century and subsequently altered in the early to mid-19th century. It is built of roughly-shaped limestone rubble, with ashlar detailing for the chimney and a roof covered in stone slates. The property is two storeys high with an attic and cellar. The front elevation has a three-window arrangement, with all windows being 16-pane sashes. Surviving features from the 18th century include a drip course above the ground-floor windows, two cellar openings, and a moulded stone eaves cornice. A 19th-century Tudor-arched doorway is positioned on the right side of the front, with brackets supporting the cornice; a panel above it was formerly lettered 'POLICE.' Two gabled attic dormers are present, with leaded casements. A chimney is located on the west end ridge, featuring a moulded cap. The interior of the property has not been inspected.
