Description
The Coffee Bean is a restaurant and flat located on High Street in Minchinhampton. It dates back to the 17th century but was remodelled in the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of random rubble limestone, which was formerly rendered, and features an ashlar chimney and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high.
The front of the building has four irregularly spaced segmental arched upper floor 12-pane sash windows with plain keyed architraves. There is a central doorway with a pediment and moulded architraves. To the left of the doorway is a later 12-pane sash window, and to the right is a large segmental window. There is a plain opening leading to a throughway adjoining No 5. The elevation shows fragments of original mullioned fenestration, and the roof pitch has likely been altered, probably during the mid-18th century. A central chimney is mounted on the ridge and has a plain cap. The interior has not been inspected.
