Description
Nos 12 and 12A on High Street is a shop with a house above, dating from the early 18th century and remodelled in the early 19th century. The building is finished in painted stucco, has a brick rebuilt chimney, and features a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front has a projecting ground floor shop front with a flat roof, glazed double doors flanked by bow windows, and concave outer wall sections, creating a flowing rhythm. To the right, there is a segmental arched throughway. The upper floor has three windows with plain architraves and a plain sill band, which were originally 12-pane sashes but have been replaced with casements and false glazing bars. A moulded stone eaves, likely an original 18th-century feature, is present. There is a central 20th-century gabled roof dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
