Description
The Swan Inn is an inn located at the end of a row in Minchinhampton, dating from the 17th century and altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, which is painted, with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The building is two stories high with an attic. The oldest part runs alongside the road, and the roof has been altered to a hip at the east end. The ground floor features timber fixed-light windows with a timber lintel, while above, there is a 16-pane sash window. A lower return wing has been added at the east end, with a mix of sashes and casements, including two 16-pane sashes on the upper floor. There is a projecting chimney on the south gable end, accompanied by a leaded casement window. The interior has not been inspected. Despite the alterations, the building is significant as it marks the end of a continuous row and is included for its group value.
