Description
Chichele College is a group of foundations from former college buildings, dating around 1422. The structures are made of coursed rubble and were originally arranged in a quadrangle plan, with the south and parts of the north, east, and west ranges still remaining. The wall bases are remnants of the north, east, and west ranges, while the west range originally housed the hall. Chichele College was established by Archbishop Henry Chichele. This group of foundations is part of a larger complex that includes the south and west ranges, the north range, and the perimeter wall, all of which are also listed. Chichele College is recognized as an ancient monument and is under the guardianship of Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England.
