Description
The Statue of Samson and the Philistine, located approximately 110 metres east of the east front of Drayton House, is an early 18th century copy of Giovanni de Bologna's original work. This lead statue depicts two wrestling figures and is mounted on an ashlar plinth. It is situated along the main east/west axis of the east front of Drayton House, on a terrace formed by a retaining wall. The gardens surrounding the statue are included in the Historic England Register of Parks and Gardens at grade I.
