Description
Numbers 36 and 38 on Drayton Road are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed squared limestone and feature slate roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. The cottages are two storeys high with an attic and have a two-window range of three-light casements. Each cottage has two plank doors and two three-light dormers positioned just below the eaves. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that includes a three-light casement. The rear of the cottages also has casements, doors, and a single-storey extension.
Inside, you will find plank doors, winder stairs, and some original fire surrounds, along with the occasional cast-iron grate. These cottages are adjacent to No. 40 and are part of a group of buildings along Drayton Road.
