Description
No. 5 Woodford Lane is a house dating from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone and has a concrete tile roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan and the house has two storeys. The front features a two-window range of 20th-century cross casements, with gauged stone heads above. The first-floor window on the right is blind. There are a pair of central 19th-century plank doors; the left door is under a wood lintel, while the right door has a gauged stone head and retains the original front doorway. The house has rebuilt brick stacks at both ends and a 19th-century extension at the rear. It was likely used as two dwellings by the Drayton Estate in the mid-19th century.
