Description
16 and 18 Robbs Lane is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features thatch and pantile roofs. Originally designed as a two-unit plan, it stands two storeys high and has a two-window range of 20th-century casements set in the original openings, which are topped with wood lintels. The central entrance has a four-panel door, with a plank door to the left, both of which are also under renewed wood lintels. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, along with ashlar stacks that feature moulded cornices. To the right, there is a one-unit, two-storey extension with a pantile roof, and a 19th-century brick extension is located at the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted that No. 18 contains remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer.
