Description
Wicket Gate Cottage and Sunnyside is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed limestone and has a pantile roof. Originally designed with an end lobby entry, it now features side entrances. The building is two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. There is a blocked doorway to the right, and throughout the property, there are replacement 16-pane sash windows. The ground floor has flat stone arches, while the first floor is supported by wooden lintels. The roof is steeply pitched and has end stacks. Inside, little of the roof structure is visible, but a cambered collar can be seen. There are 20th-century extensions to the rear, which are not of special interest.
