Description
4 and 6 Station Road is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. Originally, it had a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a four-window range of 20th-century casements with glazing bars, set in the original openings under wooden lintels. Above, there are three similar casements in the attic, positioned beneath eyebrow dormers. To the right of the center, there is a 20th-century door and porch. The gable parapets and stacks are made of ashlar, although they are now partly rendered, and are located at the ridge and end of the building. There is a 20th-century single-storey extension on the left side. Between each dwelling, there is evidence of two separate builds. The right gable, which faces the road, features one two-light stone mullion window with a drip mould, along with two other windows that have stone surrounds. The interiors have not been inspected but are noted to have chamfered ceiling beams.
