Description

Northview is a house dating to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is constructed of regular coursed limestone and ironstone, with a thatched roof. Originally designed with a three-unit plan, it has two storeys and a three-window front. The windows are predominantly casement windows, some with glazing bars, each set under a wooden lintel. A mid-19th century sash window with glazing bars is located on the far right, distinguished by its ashlar surround. A 20th-century door is situated under a wooden lintel to the right of the centre. The gables have brick ashlar parapets, and brick and stone stacks are visible at the ridge and ends of the roof. Evidence suggests two distinct phases of construction. The interior was noted to contain an open fireplace, though it has not been inspected.
