Description

This is a statue located approximately 12 metres from the north west corner of the terrace at Trent Park. It was created around 1700 by the sculptor Nost, after a design by da Bologna. The statue was brought to Trent Park from Stowe, Buckinghamshire in the mid-1920s by Sir Philip Sassoon. It is made of lead and stands on an ashlar plinth, which features a rectangular panelled design with a moulded base and cornice. The statue depicts Samson defeating a Philistine.
