Description
This is a statue located approximately 20 metres north-east of the corner of the terrace at Trent Park House. It was created around 1700 by the sculptor Nost, after the work of da Bologna. In the mid-1920s, it was brought to Trent Park from Stowe, Buckinghamshire, by Sir Philip Sassoon. The statue is made of lead and stands on an ashlar plinth. The rectangular plinth features a moulded base and cornice, supporting the statue that depicts Hercules wrestling with Antaeus.
