Description

The Brigstock War Memorial is located in the triangular Hall Hill market square, near the scheduled Market Cross. Standing approximately 6 meters high, it features a limestone cross with the words "PROWESS/ COUNTRY/ ENDURANCE/ [illegible]" in raised lettering around the base of the shaft. The shaft is mounted on a tapering plinth that includes slate panels. One of these panels is inscribed with "IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO/ GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE TWO GREAT WARS (NAMES)," while the other three panels are dedicated solely to names. The plinth rests on a two-stage square base.

The memorial is situated in the sunken center of a rock garden, which is enclosed by a modern metal fence. However, neither the fence nor the rock garden is included in the listing.
