Description
No. 27 Chapel Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is built of regularly coursed limestone and has a thatched roof. The building is a single storey with an attic and features a two-window range of casements with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. There is an additional similar casement in the attic under an eyebrow dormer to the left. A 20th-century door, located to the far left, is set under a renewed wooden lintel. The gable on the right has an ashlar parapet, and there is a brick stack at the end. The gable facing the road also has a two-window range of casements with glazing bars under wooden lintels. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer.
