Description
This is a house, likely dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It was formerly known as Tudor Cottage and is situated on the north side of Titchmarsh High Street. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone, with an ashlar facade, and has a corrugated asbestos roof. Originally designed with a lobby-entry plan of three or four units, it is now two storeys with an attic. It has a four-window front. The left and right sides of the centre feature two four-light stone mullion windows, with a king mullion and decorative hood moulds. A glazed door with a single-light window on either side has moulded stone surrounds and hood moulds. A similar window and door arrangement is present on the left side, protected by a wooden lintel. Two 19th-century casement windows, previously eyebrow dormers, are located on the first floor. The central entrance has a six-panel door, also beneath a wooden lintel. Remaining ashlar kneelers are visible. The roof was raised in stone on the gable ends and then covered with corrugated asbestos sheet on the front elevation. A brick and stone stack is situated on the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
