Description

36 The Square is a farmhouse, now a house and shop, dating from the 18th century. It is built of regularly coursed lias stone and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The original plan was L-shaped, and the building has two storeys with an attic. The front features a two-window range of 20th-century casements in original openings beneath wooden lintels, with a 20th-century shop front to the left. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and brick stacks. Inside, there is a blocked open fireplace in the room to the right of the main front, along with stop-chamfered spine beams. Some original roof structure remains.
