Description
Chapel Gardens is a house that has been converted into three dwellings, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from squared coursed lias with a limestone and brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof. The building was originally likely designed with a three-unit lobby-entry plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features a three-window range of casements, some of which have glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels.
To the left of the centre, there is a 19th-century six-panelled door with a wooden hood, and to the far right, there is a similar door with glazed top lights and a lattice porch. There is also evidence of a blocked door in the lobby entry position and a small blocked window. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers on the left side, along with brick stacks at the ridge and end. A fire insurance plaque is located in the centre of the facade. At the rear, there is a 20th-century lean-to extension.
