Description

A farmhouse, now divided into two dwellings, dating from the mid-18th century. It was originally designed as a three-unit building. The exterior is constructed of regular coursed and squared coursed lias stone with a concrete tile roof. The property is two storeys high. Number 34 has a three-window front with 19th-century casement windows, each set beneath a wooden lintel. A central 19th-century part-glazed door, also under a wooden lintel, is sheltered by a wooden porch. Ashlar gable parapets, kneelers, and brick stacks are present at the ridge and end of the building. The remains of a plinth and string course are visible on the left gable.

The interior of Number 34 features an open fireplace with a bressumer (a large beam above the fireplace), spine beams with run-out stops, and part of the original roof structure. Reused 17th and 18th-century panelling is found throughout the interior and is believed to have originated from the Church of All Saints, Earls Barton. A late 19th-century brick extension to the front of Number 36 is not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
