Description
The Parish Church Hall, originally a school, is located in Earls Barton and dates from the mid-19th century, with later 19th-century extensions. The building is constructed of lias ashlar and features a fish-scale tile roof. It has an L-shaped plan in the Tudor style and is a single storey. The entrance front consists of two bays, with a gable on the left and a gabled porch that has a finial and a 20th-century door with a four-centred arched head. There are flanking two-light windows with transoms. The bay on the right is a later 19th-century addition, featuring a six-light stone mullioned and transomed window. A similar bay is located at the rear to the right. All windows are fitted with cast-iron diamond glazing bars. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, and the gables on the left are similar. Above the entrance, there is a partially legible datestone with the initials DS/AC. A 20th-century extension at the rear is not of special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected.
