Description

HIGHAM FERRERS MARKET SQUARE SP9668SW (East side) 20/63 War Memorial approx. 16m. N of Town Hall GV II

War memorial. Early C20. Limestone ashlar. Rectangular pier with rusticated sides and tall panel to front and rear. Moulded cornice with segmental pediment over. Relief figure depicting Peace on front panel and laurel wreaths to sides. Inscription in front panel, "In memory of gallant men from this town who fell in the Great War 1914-1918". Naves are listed below and on the reverse panel.
