Description

The war memorial, located approximately 16 meters north of the Town Hall in Higham Ferrers Market Square, was built in the early 20th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a rectangular pier with rusticated sides and a tall panel on both the front and rear. The memorial is topped with a moulded cornice and a segmental pediment. On the front panel, there is a relief figure representing Peace, along with laurel wreaths on the sides. The front panel also bears the inscription, "In memory of gallant men from this town who fell in the Great War 1914-1918," with names listed below and on the reverse panel.
