Description

No. 2 Market Square, which also includes No. 5 Hind Stile, is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is constructed of regularly coursed limestone, with some parts rendered, and features a 20th-century plain tile roof. The building originally had a two-unit lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high. It has a two-window range of 20th-century casements set in original sash openings on the first floor, while the ground floor features a 20th-century shop window. There is a central brick stack. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace. This building is included for its group value.
