Description

The war memorial, located southwest of the Church of St Martin, was designed in 1921 by the eleventh Earl Ferrers. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and has a rectangular plan, with the plinth set into the churchyard retaining wall. The memorial features three stages that step inwards. The lowest stage is inscribed with the names of those who were killed, while the middle stage is completely plain. The top stage displays a cross in relief on the west side, with blind recessed lancets on the north and south sides, and a cruciform gabletted top.
