Description
Two cottages located on School Lane, built in the early to mid-18th century, with some alterations from the 20th century. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with some areas rendered, and feature plain-tile roofs along with brick ridge and end stacks. The cottages are arranged in an L-plan.
No. 1 has two storeys and an attic, while No. 2 has two storeys and a two-window range. The front of No. 2, which faces the street, includes a central six-panel, part-glazed door with a wooden lintel and a straight hood supported by cusped brackets. Both cottages have 20th-century two-light leaded casement windows on the ground and first floors, also with wooden lintels.
No. 1 projects at a right angle to the far right and features a part-glazed door with a stop-chamfered wooden lintel. To the right of this door, there is a three-light casement window, and above it on the first floor, there is another window, both with stop-chamfered wooden lintels. Additionally, No. 1 has two flat-roofed dormer windows with two-light casements. The building has a rendered plinth, a panel of render to the far right of the street-facing range, and a rendered gable end on the projecting range.
Inside No. 1, there is a stop-chamfered spine beam on the ground floor.
