Description

Villiers House is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the mid-18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring some flared headers, and has a plain-tile roof with brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan, stands two storeys tall with an attic, and has a three-window range.

The central entrance features a four-panel door that is accessed by three stone steps. The door includes an overlight, panelled reveals, and a reeded wood surround with decorative paterae at the top corners, topped by a straight hood. On either side of the door are canted bay windows set on brick bases, with the left bay incorporating a two-light cellar window. These bays have 12-pane sash windows on the front, moulded cornices, and flat roofs. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows with wooden lintels on either side of a blank central window that has a cambered arched head. Parts of the heads of similar windows, which are now blocked, can still be seen to the far left at the basement, ground, and first-floor levels. The building features a plinth, a storey band, and double wave-moulded brick eaves. There are also two flat-roofed dormer windows and a brick-coped gable on the right side.

Inside, the roof structure includes one tier of purlins, closely spaced rafters, and no principal rafters.
