Description
No. 8 School Lane is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain-tile roof with a brick stack on the right side. The building has a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a two-window range. A 20th-century door is located to the left of center and is framed by a moulded wood surround and a wood lintel, set within a 20th-century open porch. There is a single-light casement window on the ground and first floors to the far left, both with wood lintels. To the right, there is a two-light window on the ground floor and a three-light window on the first floor, both also with wood lintels. At the rear, there is a single-storey extension with a catslide roof. Inside, there is a passage leading from the front door.
