Description
Lodge Farmhouse and the attached barn to the right are a house and barn from the mid to late 18th century, constructed of gritstone rubble with a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two stories tall with two bays, while the barn is lower and has three bays with a front outshut. The building features quoins. The house has a central 20th-century glazed door set in a slightly projecting stone surround with a cornice. On either side and on the first floor, there are three-light flat-faced mullion windows with small-pane frames and a central sash. The right side has a shaped kneeler and gable coping. There are two central corniced ridge stacks, one on the main ridge and another on the ridge of the right-hand bay.
The barn has a central cart entrance with rebuilt quoined jambs and a wooden lintel. To the left, there is a 20th-century glazed door with quoined jambs and a large lintel, along with a small square window under the eaves above in a chamfered surround. On the far right, there is a byre door with tie-stone jambs and an overlight, along with a small square window above it. There is also a blocked upper-floor loading doorway with quoined jambs to the left of the cart entrance. The barn is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
