Description
Upton Mill is an early 19th-century windpump with a tapering tower that is circular in shape and constructed of tarred brick. The cap is weather-boarded and boat-shaped. The tower has four storeys, featuring one ground floor door opening, while the opposing door has been partly blocked to create a window opening. The original openings contain 20th-century windows. The cap frame includes a cast iron weatherbeam, and there are cast iron gallery bearers and iron rails. Inside, there is a cast iron windshaft and the remains of a wooden brakewheel, along with remnants of the fan stage.
