Description
St. Benet's Level Windpump is a late 18th-century tower draining mill, restored in 1976. It features a tapering four-storey brick tower with a door on the east side that has a segmental head, and a segmental-headed window below it. There is an additional ground floor window on the south side. The windpump has a boarded, boat-shaped cap that carries sails, a gallery, and a fan stage. It includes a striking chain wheel and tailpole. All machinery is intact, including an external turbine, although the bevel gears were replaced in 1976.
